Presentation of the microphone MK-119 – the innovation of designers from Russian factory "Octava" was held at the exhibition Musikmesse in Frankfurt am Main (Germany). Guests were able to try the acoustic parameters of a novel condenser microphone with a wide gilded membrane in a soundproof booth, specially brought from Russia, which provided vocalists and sound designers with the opportunity to test the new product in conditions close to the professional sound studio.
At the largest international purpose-oriented exhibition of musical instruments, Musikmesse, Oktava factory presents its novel electroacoustics solutions for the second consecutive year. It was premium MKL-112 tube microphone in 2018 and vocal condenser microphone MK-119 in 2019.
"The sound is very natural! Sensitivity, in my opinion, is too high for wind instruments, but for vocal performance, guitar or piano – it is just excellent. This is an honest microphone that does not give a positive sound coloring. You get exactly what you reproduce" – such judgements were given by the well-known Cuban trumpeter, conductor, arranger and composer, Amik Guerra.
MK-119 incorporates a wide-band capsule of the popular studio model MK-319 and is a new universal microphone with a cardioid radiation characteristic. The most effective angle of operation is achieved at 65 degrees to either side of the axis in front of the microphone. This device gives the most accurate and transparent sound reproduction and works perfectly for vocal recording. Meanwhile, recording the piano, acoustic guitar, bayan, accordion, stringed and bowed instruments playing is also among the fields of microphone application.
"Microphone belongs to the line of professional products, but will be suitable beyond the large sound-recording studio too. Due to extra versatility, MK-119 can become a headliner for home studios. We managed to create a model, ideal for vocals and speech, combining the ability to score a wide variety of instruments," pointed Vladimir Shipilov, design director of Octava factory.
The new model MK-119 in a rugged metal case extends the range of modern microphones, presented in the "Oktava" exposition. In addition to the traditional flagships, at the exhibition stand in Frankfurt am Main, the developer has presented the microphones MKL-112, MK-115 and MK-117, released in 2018. The premium electron-tube MKL-5000 enjoyed the special attention of musicians and sound engineers.
"The main advantage of German Musikmesse is interconnection of musicians, sound designers and manufacturers of musical equipment from all around the world. Our stand was visited by professional associations, production centers, representatives of record labels and other participants of music industry. For four days we had interviews with a number of partners, and the Oktava’s new developments have invariably had a strong following", underlined Lyubov Stalnova, the marketing director of factory.
By the preliminary data, this year over 50 thousand visitors from dozens of countries have visited the main event of the European Musikmesse music industry. The "Oktava" exposition was visited by representatives of show business and journalists, where about 20 models of modern professional microphones of Russian production were presented on 14 sq. m of exposition.
