Oktava organized a premiere of the new Russian-made professional vocal stage microphone MK-207 at the Summer NAMM 2021. The presentation took place on 4th July in Nashville, USA. Within the framework of one of the largest world events in the music industry, Oktava alsopresented its main line of microphones. This was the first offline exhibition in two years.
MK-207 vocal microphone is a condenser microphone with external polarization of the capsule, wide membrane and cardioid polar pattern. The microphone is equipped with a built-in shock absorber, pop filter, and windshield and is used for professional recording and sound amplification, speech, musical instruments at concert venues, in sound studios, at public events.
“Oktava designs many fantastic microphones and we are committed to providing support for our US customers. We have been using Oktava microphones in our studio for over 15 years now, and we can't wait to help increase Oktava brand awareness here in the States ", - Shane Shelby, Oktava's American partner, CEO of Front End Audio, shared his opinion about the products presented at the exhibition.
The new MK-207 is intended to import studio quality of sound to the stage. The innovative circuit design provides an extended frequency range (20 to 20,000 Hz), high sensitivity, and low self-noise. The microphone weighs 350 grams and will be available in black. The new product has a design traditional for the brand, repeating the clean lines of the body of the first Russian dynamic vocal microphone Oktava MD-305. The brand came with it into the scenic equipment market in 2020. MK-207 is a continuation of Oktava's line of vocal scenic microphones of a higher class, which are designed for professionals.
“The microphone has some of the best characteristics in its segment. In Russia, it has already passed a full cycle of acceptance tests at the Maxim Gorky Central Film Studio for Children and Youth. But the world premiere was important for us since Oktava is actively exploring the market segment of vocal wired and wireless microphones, which, according to analysts, will reach $ 1.715 billion by 2025, ”said Oktava's marketing director Lyubov Stalnova.
In 2021, the organizer of The NAMM Show, the National Association of Music Producers, hosted a music industry event for the second time with the opportunity to join online. But the summer Namm was the first exhibition to be held offline as well.
“This year's Summer NAMM is an impressive event, although it looks a little different from the previous years'. People attend this exhibition to experience a business-oriented show with new opportunities and a new format, ”said Joe Lamond, the President and CEO of NAMM.
At Summer Namm 2021, Oktava presented its best microphone designs - the MK-207, MK-117, the bestseller MK-012, and the legendary MKL-5000, which was used in the filming of CHANEL watches.
“Without a doubt, Oktava microphones are in the top 3 in terms of value for money. Having tested the pilot version of the MK-207, I can rank it with the very best in its class, with award-winning microphones. At its price, MK-207 competes with many foreign renowned brands. The reference frequency is about 3-4 daHz, Oktava has more, so it sounds more complete, rich. That is, it does not sound so flat, ” Alexander Spirit, a blogger shared his experience.
Participants of the music market and specially invited guests, who previously gathered at the NAMM Show every year, acquainted themselves with the latest musical technologies within the framework of Summer Namm 2021. And this is more than 100 thousand people from 125 countries.
