Russian manufacturer of professional studio microphones — Oktava (part of the Rostec State Corporation) - supported the Moscow music festival WAVE FORUM for the second time. At the Forum, the Company presented professional studio microphones from the premium and basic product lines.
WAVE FORUM 2019 is the main educational event for music creators, a festival for musicians and representatives of creative professions, which annually gathers more than 2,500 artists in Moscow. Traditionally, there are sound producers, art producers, performers meeting to exchange relevant knowledge among the participants. This year, 65 practitioners of the music industry shared their professional knowledge.
"This year at the WAVE FORUM, professionals were able to get acquainted with the best achievements of the Soviet engineering school and modern technologies on the example of a whole Oktava product line. In total, our current line of professional microphones includes 18 models, not to mention modifications. All microphones are available in stereo pairs. And we have prepared our famous MK-012 as a gift to the participants. Sound producers appreciate the versatility of this microphone and note the intensity and clearness of the sound", said Lyubov Stalnova, the Director of Marketing of Oktava.
Oktava MK-012 is the universal condenser microphone with interchangeable insets that the Radiohead musicians used while recording their OK Computer album. The microphone has a small overall dimensions and weighs only 115 g. It has a sensitivity of 12-16 mV/Pa per 1 kHz and low noise: less than 18 dB. The microphone is capable of recording loud sounds even at a short distance and it is suitable not only for recording guitar, piano but also for the rear-fill of percussion instruments. The microphones assemblies and the separate insets are also supplied in a stereo pair.
In the Oktava professional product line presented at the site, there are a new MK-117 microphone and a top-of-the-line MK-012 condenser, as well as MK-5000 tube microphone - an instrument of the premium segment to create a unique image of the reader and presenter, assistant when recording solo vocals and choral groups. The basic line was also represented by MK-519 condenser and ML-52-02 band microphones.
British record producer and sound producer Hugh Charles Padgham (the Police, Sting), founder and owner of Electrical Audio Company, which manages recording studios in Chicago, Stephen Frank Albini (Nirvana, Jimmy Page, PJ Harvey, Robert Plant), use these microphones. Many Russian stars, for example, Konstantin Matafonov, recording engineer and Director of the Black Star inc label, who is also known for his work in the "Songs on TNT" project, use Oktava products. Konstantin will be the Forum speaker this year.
