The Oktava enterprise in Tula became a partner of the qualifying round of the 'Open your Mouth' Championship for reading aloud in Russian in London. The enterprise's products will now be represented not only in the qualifying rounds in more than 100 Russian cities but also at the international round, one of which takes place in England's capital.
Since 2017 the highly sensitive MK-105 studio microphone has been the official championship microphone in Russia.
'The MK-105 professional studio condenser microphone is one of the best in the family. It combines an advanced design idea and expert design development, which expanded the concept of the traditional appearance of Oktava microphones. The unique sound is ensured by the original design of the capsule and by the well-established electrical preamplifier circuit. In terms of purity and depth of sound, the microphone is not inferior to many tube models. As the only full-cycle manufacturing plant in Russia—from design to production of serial products—we should certainly support the project that is so important for the preservation of the Russian language and literature as it enters an international scene,' said Vladimir Shipilov, Design Director of the Oktava enterprise.
The 'Open your Mouth' reading aloud Championship has been held since 2011. The London stage is held for the first time. Each year the number of cities hosting qualifying rounds doubles. In the 2018–2019 season 'Open your Mouth' will be held in more than 120 cities in Russia and abroad. The Championship's narrators always use Oktava. They were the first to test the prototype condenser microphone for announcers, radio presenters, and bloggers—the MK-115.
'For the second season we have been friends with Oktava microphones. They have travelled with us all over the country and further. Sound engineers are delighted, one even asked me to sell him a microphone. But I told him that we do not sell friends. Seriously though, the sound is perfect. There is not much difference if a top performer or a schoolgirl reads into the microphone. Everything is audible, everything is beautiful, everything is high quality,' declared Mikhail Faustov, the organiser of the reading aloud in Russian Championship 'Open your Mouth'.
The Championship went abroad in 2018. Today, 24 October, Oktava microphones will be used at Pushkin House in London.
